Kevin Carroll Hanley ========================= Date of Birth : 11 September 1949 Date Wounded: 30 August 1968 Date of Death: 17 September 1968 gvvvvvvvvvvvvvvb Circumstances relating To his "Died of Wounds Classification Kevin enlisted in the Marines 6 November 1967 at the Providence Recruiting Office and took his basic boot camp training at Parris Island and infantry training at Camp Lejeune. Arriving in Vietnam he was assigned to Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. Kevin was wounded by a booby trap 11 kilometers west southwest of Hai Van Bridge, while participating in Operation Mameluke Thrust.. He was med-evac and died at NSA Danang Station Hospital, as a result of fragmentation wounds to the head sustained August 30.
